How to Wear: Patterned/Colored Pants!

I got this idea in my head and couldn't get it out until it was posted so 2 posts in one day . . . I feel accomplished :). Ok, so I have noticed the trend of patterned and colored pants going around and I know some people may have difficulties of what to pair the pants with. Well have no fear, Nicki is here!! So lets say you go for a pair of patterned pants like these (can be found at Delia's).
You could pair patterned pants with a solid colored top such as this one. I love this sweater so much because it has a cut out bow on the back! (also at Delia's)
So some of you may not want to be so daring and plunge right into this trend. Never fear!! You can try a more subtle approach and go with patterned pants like these (also at Delia's). There is a very unnoticeable pattern on this particular pair of pants but its there.
With this pair of pants I would go with a more neutral colored top such as this oatmeal colored sweater from Forever 21. It has a tie-keyhole in the back. To add some charm to this outfit you could add a cute girly necklace like this one.
Now moving onto the trend of colored pants. I would suggest going with a a plain but fancy top or graphic shirt and some cool accessories. I have this pair of ox blood/maroon colored jeans from Rue 21.
I think this pair of pants would look cool with a gray, black, or white top such as this one from Delia's. For shoes I thought this pair of studded motorcycle type boots would look awesome and gives the outfit some rocker edge. Now these boots I got at a TJ Maxx and I think their merchandise varies from place to place but don't worry you can probably find these kinds of boots at any another store.
Well thats all I have for this post (it was really long!!) but if you have any questions leave them in the comments and I might just answer them! ♥,Nicki

Review: Clinique 3-Step Acne Solution System

Hi everyone!! It has been far to long but don't worry! We haven't abandoned the blog. So as promised I have a review for Clinique's 3-Step Acne Solution System. I began using this seeing it was working for someone I know. The first step is a cleansing foam. Its really nice, it doesn't burn like other systems I have tried. It a light scent in my opnion. The second step is a clarifying lotion. Don't let the name fool you though it is actually very liquidy and clear. This can sting a little if you have recently picked at the acne you have (I'm guilty of doing this). The last step is a clearing moisturizer which doesn't burn at all and doesn't have a strong scent either. This system has worked very well for me and I would highly recommend it. I'm sorry to say that I don't remember the price of this item and feel bad to those of you who wanted to know.
BONUS!!! I've decided to add something to this post that also helps with acne/redness. It is Clinique's Redness Reduction Powder.
The powder is yellow instead of skin colored because it balances out the redness better. It even comes with a little brush and an area to store the brush.
Well thats all for this post but I will be posting more very soon!! ♥,Nicki

June Favorites | 2012

Welcome to our first favorites post! Here we're going to say what our favorite things are this month and talk a little about them, maybe Nicki will do one, too! Right now I'm doing one, this is Blaire the founder of The Fab Gab! Usually people do favorites at the end of the month, but that doesn't help you! We always try our best to help you, thats why we started this blog!! There will be no pictures in this post because I felt a post like this needed HD pictures so we couldn't use a webcam or an old camera, our new camera is on its way back, it's been borrowed by someone else, so thank you for your patience! Without further ado, these are my June Favorites!

Makeup: My favorite makeup item right now is the tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Eyeliner. It works so well, glides so smoothly on your eyes, stays all day, and the point stays sharp! I love it, I will be purchasing more of these.

Nail Polish: The best nail colors out there right now are Essie Mojito Madness and Essie Bikini So Teeny. First, I want to start off my saying that Essie is the best overrall nail polish brand. Mojito Madness is this goregous bright green, it can be edgy, classy, glam, or girly, it is an all-around color! Bikini So Teeny is such a pretty color, it's this pale blue that is to die for.

Music: I Won't Give Up by Jason Mraz and Too Close by Alex Clare. I Won't Give Up is a beautiful song, with beautiful lyrics, sung by a beautiful, natural voice. Too Close is just one of those I love you, but I have to let you go songs. It tells a story and its so fun to listen to if you're happy, angry, or sad.

Hair: So, I just got a new brush and it's amazing. The CHI TURBO CB11. It's a large paddle brush and it really smooths out your hair and doesn't hurt when getting the tangles and knots out! I tend to run my fingers through my hair, especially my bangs, for a tousled look. That makes my hair really oily so the best dry shampoo I found is Rockaholic Dirty Secret. It really absorbs the oil and dirt out on those days that you don't have time to wash your hair. It also leaves a fresh clean scent!

Vera Bradley: Island Blooms has always been my favorite pattern ever since it came out so I'm still sticking with that beautiful, summery pattern. If I want something that's on sale I always get Plum Petals because it's so pretty, especially in medium sized items.

The Books I'm Currently Reading: Catching Fire is my favorite book. I'm almost finished so soon I will take Mockingjay off my shelf! I'm so excited!

Check back next month for the next favorites post!

Summer Time! + Welcome Back Fab Gab!

Summer is just around the corner which means, summer fashion shopping will be necessary!! There will be no pictures put up on this post because we wanted to post right away since we didn't post in so long. We've been busy preparing for a professional looking blog! So, there will be our very own high quality pictures to come and possibly videos if we're lucky! So the top summer item you need is a swim suit. Whether you like bikinis, tankinis, or one pieces, there's always something trendy for you. Always. Be sure to get a variety of colors, so let's say you're getting three new swim suits this season, you already got one pink one and you try on another pink one in a different style, try getting a blue or purple one because you already have pink and you don't want it to look like you're wearing the same one! Also, it's good to make one a solid color, or with a light pattern. If you got a tribal print one, don't get a zebra print one if you know you won't be getting another swim suit. If you're getting three swim suits get one wild pattern, one a light pattern, and one a neutral or solid color. There will be no confusion whether or not you're wearing the same bathing suit as last time! Another summer must-have is, waterproof make-up! If you're at the beach or the pool the worst thing is having your eyeliner or mascara smear down your face or smudge on your eyelids, you'll appear tired and if it's really bad your face will be covered in black makeup. Next thing would be, a cover-up. I know if you think wearing your favorite tank will cut it, but we've learned that if you wear a tank top, even a loose one it sticks to where your bikini is and makes two round marks...so get a cover up that will be double layered or ruffled in that area or a terry cloth one that will absorb the water. Next, you need flip flops! One pair of casual flip flops and one pair of fancy ones. Either solid color or patterned flip flops for the casual with normal straps and the fancy ones meaning the straps have a bow, flower, leather knot, etc. Wear the casual ones by the pool or with a beachy look and the fancy ones when you hit the mall, go out to dinner, walking on the boardwalk, anywhere. It all depends on your look! Next, sun dresses! Casual, dinner, shopping, pool, anywhere! Sun dresses are a must have! Next, a romper! Yes, a romper. Florals, solids, jean, they have basically every pattern in a romper! Rompers are to die for on almost-hot days, you can dress it up or dress it down. They are perfection! Next, a wide variety of shorts! Short shorts, finger-tip length, bermuda, there's a big variety! I recommend getting one of each kind and get a floral or tribal pair (some kind of patterned one) and denim of course! Also get cloth shorts for the pool or boardwalk or for just chilling! Lastly, tank tops. Flowy floral tank tops to just tight solid colors. You need one of each! Pair with shorts or a skirt, and on those chilly summer nights pair with jeans and a cardigan! We hoped this gave you your basics for summer clothes! We will be posting a lot more so please keep checking back!

Here's a list of some summer stores to check out:
Forever 21
Delia's
Hollister
Abercrombie and Fitch
Pacsun
Target
Wet Seal
Charlotte Russe
Department stores like Kohl's, Bon-Ton, Macy's, etc.

Review: Clinique Liquid Facial Soap ;; Liquid vs. Bar

I got it!!! I transfered from my bar facial soap to the liquid and I'm just like...wow...why didn't I use the liquid soap sooner?! It works so much better than the bar.
Pros:
1. Its easy to apply, just pump the soap out!
2. Easy rinse off! It's not as thick as the bar so it rinses off in half the amount of time
3. No zits! It zaps all the zits ever on your face and BOOM their gone!
Cons:
1. NONE!!!!!
So, which would I recommend? Liquid or bar? Personally, I like the liquid a lot better! But I still stand by everything I said about the bar, it is smaller, so I may use the bar for traveling since it is smaller. I just find that the liquid is easier to use and faster and it did clear up zits faster, also. It controlled my oily T-Zone so well it is amazing! Its been about 20 hours since washing my face with the liquid last night (I didn't have time thise morning) and my skin is not oily AT ALL. It's usually like super oily at this time but with the liquid it is not oily at all. I love it.
